    This "Wedding Ring" Quilt was made in the early 1940's by Helen McArton Houston (Mrs. J. Stewart Houston), who was over 80 years old at the time. The quilt was given to her grand-daughter, Evelyn Houston, at the time of her wedding in September 1947 to Walter Sutherland, a dairy farmer from the area then known as "The Beaver", not far from the little village of St. Agnes de Dundee in Québec.
