    On inspection, we find this quilt is machine pieced which would indicate a later date than 1830. Perhaps pieces cut and pieced later. Some black fabric shredded (i.e.. silk). Black sateen excellent condition. Red fabric, 3 varieties, primarily red serge. Quilting thread heavy, perhaps buttonhole floss.
