    Material was ordered through the "Ads" section of the "Family Herald" & the "Weekly star" (Montreal, Que) or the "Farmer's weekly press" (Winnipeg). She would send $1 in approx, 2 weeks a lb bundle of fabric arrived - wrapped in brown paper & tried with twine, she fabrics were a variety of colours & the pattern already cut in odd shapes of triangles, uneven square, etc. These pieces were then sewn to a foundation fabric (usually a "Red path sugar sack") in a "Crazy Quilt" formation. N.B. scraps of fabric leftover from sewing aprons & house dresses were also used. This fabric was purchased from a small variety store in Huberdeau, Quebec owned by Miss Journier
