She would send $1 in approx, 2 weeks a lb bundle of fabric arrived - wrapped in brown paper & tried with twine, she fabrics were a variety of colours & the pattern already cut in odd shapes of triangles, uneven square, etc. These pieces were then sewn to a foundation fabric (usually a "Red path sugar sack") in a "Crazy Quilt" formation. N.B. scraps of fabric leftover from sewing aprons & house dresses were also used.
